I create fantasy/medieval map assets and tools: symbol sets, brushes, paper textures, and Photoshop map-maker files. Most symbol sets include high-resolution PNGs and an Adobe Illustrator (.ai) vector file; many also include Photoshop brushes (.abr). Which apps do these work with?

Short answer: if your app can use PNGs, vectors, or Photoshop brushes—you’re good.

• PNG (transparent): Works in virtually everything—Photoshop, Affinity, GIMP, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Photopea, Canva, web, and most mapmakers. Canva specifically supports PNG uploads. Canva

• .AI (Illustrator vector): Best in Adobe Illustrator. Many apps can open or place .ai/PDF-compatible vectors, but editing fidelity varies by app/version. (If you need a different vector format, ask!) fantasymapsymbols.com+1

Do these work in Wonderdraft, Inkarnate, or CC3+?

Yes—use the PNGs as custom assets.

• Inkarnate (Pro): lets you upload custom art via the Asset Manager. inkarnate.com

• Campaign Cartographer 3+ (ProFantasy): can make symbols from PNG art (subject to the artwork’s license). ProFantasy Community Forum

Can I use your assets commercially?

Yes—with simple rules. My Commercial Use Policy allows personal and indie commercial projects without special permission if you meet all conditions, including project revenue under $2,000 and no redistribution of the files (even modified). Not allowed without a Guild License or written permission: use by teams with annual revenue over $25,000, use by major publishers, any bundling/redistribution of the assets, claiming the art as your own, or training an AI model on these files. fantasymapsymbols.com

Do I need to credit you?

Credit is appreciated but not required. Suggested wording:

How do I install the brushes?

• Photoshop (.abr): Load via Brushes panel (or Preset Manager in older versions). Lifewire
